New data reveals that nearly 16% of the country's population is among the poor, thanks to rises in healthcare, among other costs.

A new census that takes into account rising medical costs, among other expenses, has estimated that a record number of 49.1 million Americans are among the poor. The demographic that has seen the greatest increase in poverty is people over the age of 65. The Guardian.
