Microsoft Creates The Ultimate High-Tech Hotel Room

Room 3120 in Novotel France is equipped with cool gadgets and motion-sensor technology.

Tech giant Microsoft has teamed up with Novotel to unveil the ‘hotel room of the future’ that’s equipped with the latest technology and gadgets. Room 3120 is showcasing at the 4-star Novotel Vaugirard Montparnasse hotel in Paris that aims to combine high-tech gadgets with forward-thinking design. The concept room allows guests to control every aspect of their surrounding through body gestures and voice commands using Microsoft Kinect technology.

TVs and sound systems can be turned on and off at the wave of a hand; the mirror in the room can also display news, local weather or multimedia content; and there’s even a touchscreen table where guests can access a range of applications.

Room 3120 is split into two main spaces: one for entertainment and the other for relaxing. The high-tech room can be booked for overnight stays and will be available until February 2012.
