Sony has launched a series of videos promoting the range of movies now available on the Playstation Video Store. These extraordinary short films were shot in one take, in real time and with no post-production, and literally bring to life the store’s tagline: Great Films Fill Rooms.

In the videos, the main character is immersed in the film as the ordinary room quickly transforms into a movie set. The room is filled with projected images that move in real-time to create a virtual world.

The effect was done using Playstation devices synced with cameras scattered throughout the set. As Designboom explains, the devices “track the projection in real time to adjust the angle and deformation of its effects so that they align with the camera’s viewpoint.”

In addition, traditional film tricks such as stagehands and fishing wire were used to make objects appear or float in mid-air.

Watch the set of videos of below and be blown away by the result.
