The market is becoming more interested in free Wi-Fi and are not interested in investing in wireless plans.

Most owners of tablet computing devices like Apple’s iPad don’t buy wireless service plans, a new report said.

Connected Intelligence, a service of The NPD Group, reported that 65 percent of tablet owners in October said they intended to go Wi-Fi only. That is up from 60 percent in April. $199 Kindle Fire is only available as a Wi-Fi device. Business Journal
