Gobble, a SF startup, connects nearby 5-star cooks with users to bring fresh, home-cooked meals to your door through an online marketplace.

Gobble, based in Palo Alto, is a peer-to-peer marketplace for home-cooked meals from neighborhood chefs. Similar to the UK model that we mentioned last year, Gobble-vetted Bay Area Chefs create, post and price their meals for neighborhood eaters to browse. Chefs cook fresh ingredients based on every order, sometimes sourcing food from their own gardens. The marketplace offers chefs an opportunity to earn a supplemental income stream or a full time living. Each chef is responsible for complying with federal, state, county or local laws surrounding what kind of food can be served. Gobble takes an undisclosed percentage of each meal and a flat delivery rate.
