Runners Transformed Into Multi-Colored, Moving Canvases

The Color Run is a spirited 5k race where every kilometer mark has a different color station, where participants are doused with paint as they run by.

If you love color as much as we do, imagine a 5K run featuring elements of the joyful, annual Hindu festival, Holi–where bright paint is thrown on revelers. However, this one-of-a-kind experience exists in the form of the The Color Run. Bearing the brazen slogan, “3.1 miles of color madness,” this event is more about spending the day celebrating color with friends and family and less about a race, since it’s not timed. The only participation requirements are that runners must wear a plain white t-shirt and be willing to be splattered with paint like a canvas as each leg of the course blasts a specific colorful dust. At the first kilometer, runners are doused with highlighter yellow paint, at 2k with blue, 3K green, 4K hot pink, and a rainbow of hues at the finish line. The chalky pigment consists of a food grade cornstarch that is 100% natural and safe.
