New Luxury Social Airplane Seating Fosters Conversation And Networking

Qatar Airways revamps its interior design to provide flyers with personal tablets and seats the foster interaction with fellow passengers.

The Qatar Airways brand has been making a steady climb into capturing international and luxury travelers.

The Doha-based airline recently unveiled a new seating design for business and economy passengers flying on its B787 aircraft; they’re celebrating this milestone with the Twitter hashtag #Qatar787. In a statement by Qatar Airways Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, he commented:

The 787 aircraft architecture is such that a lot of attention has been placed by Boeing on spacious cabins, which we are maximising to ensure our passengers get what they pay for – value for money and a great travel experience.

The announcement was made at ITB Berlin, the renowned travel industry trade show. The seating arrangement has more of a convivial feel, with seats facing one another at a slight angle, centered around a wood-trimmed sliding table.  Touch screen Android devices will be available for on-demand movie, 17-inch personal touch screen TV (10 inches for Economy), music, and gaming entertainment. This system can be connected to Apple devices using iPort connectors that enable content from personal devices to be displayed in-flight.
