The department store chain releases an in-store personal shopping app that helps sales associates connect with shoppers to provide an enhanced retail experience.

Clothing retailer Neiman Marcus launches its new mobile personal shopping application enabling shoppers to select and find various items via their mobile devices. Through the use of location-based technology and QR codes, the iOS application lets users browse through their favorite products and find them through a store locator. Moreover, special events and new arrivals will be sent to the users via push notifications.

Neiman Marcus also takes advantage of the use of QR codes in informing consumers on the season's new trends. In-store shoppers will be able to scan the code and see all of the items in the Neiman Marcus location that pertain to that particular trend. The department store chain hopes that this new initiative will help create and retain loyal relationships between shoppers and sales associates. Consumers can choose to link with sales associates via the app, and the sales associate will be notified instantly of the shopper's preferences. Sales associate will have access to personalized shopper information through this mobile technology as well. The NM Service app launch this spring in select locations.
