Tthe Art & Sole series features four different cover designs that are accompanied by a pair of Nike Cortez iD in matching colors created by emerging, young talents.

To celebrate Nike’s 40th anniversary, four emerging artists designed four special edition Art & Sole covers for a book that accompanies four Nike Cortez iD sneakers. The brief for the exclusive sneaker-art project and brand collaboration was simply to interpret the Cortez using a specifically assigned color (red, magenta, green or blue) and provide a response to the ‘history of running’.

 The four artists commissioned were Jiro Bevis, Matthew Nicholson, Shantell Martin and Rose Stallard, and each of their cover work has been packaged alongside a pair of color-coordinated Art & Sole Cortez sneakers. These special packs are limited to 40 units per design (priced at £125) and will be available only through the newly opened retail space at the Boxpark pop-up mall in Shoreditch, London.
