A different drawing is created each time you cycle on this bicycle installation.

Artist Joseph Griffiths has designed a stationary bicycle called the Drawing Machine #1 that also acts as an art tool. As the user begins to pedal, the colored markers that are attached to the wheels and handle bars, begin to move and turn.

The installation allows the cyclist to draw circles on the canvas in front using the main contraption attached to the bike that responds to the pedals. While moving the handle bars create smaller drawings above. The drawings are produced randomly and with each ride, a different artwork is produced.
