Living Social advances into the takeout market, allowing millions of subscribers to place food orders online.

LivingSocial, one of the internet’s fastest-growing online deal sites, unveils plans for expanding its services to food takeout and delivery. Replacing LivingSocial’s ‘Instant Deals’ service, which offered real-time deals at specific times of the day, this new ‘Takeout & Delivery’ will refocus  the company’s food-service offerings.

Greg Mazanec, general manager of LivingSocial’s ‘Takeout & Delivery,’ described the new service as an reinvention of the traditional phone ordering method which is a “pretty friction-laden experience.” Instead, he said:
