Frédéric Malle describes his role as a publisher and since 2000, when he launched his perfume publishing house ‘Editions de Parfums,' he has worked with a number of talented contemporary perfumers to develop fragrances. He has published creations by Pierre Bourdon, Jean-Claude Ellena, Olivia Giacobetti, Dominique Ropion, Maurice Roucel, Edmond Roudnitska, amongst others.

He gives the perfumers he invites a lot of freedom, an unlimited selection of ingredients and as much time as they need to create a scent. He has recently released his first book, On Perfume Making, which describes his collaborations for Editions de Parfums, the complexities of creating a fragrance, and details of the formulas and raw materials.
