New apps from MapMyFITNESS let users work out more socially by sharing their stats with their network to help increase motivation.

MapMyFITNESS has launched two new exercise apps that are compatible with the Windows smartphones. MapMyRIDE allows cyclists to track and map out their bike routes, while MapMyRUN can do the same for joggers. The apps can record the user’s daily routes via GPS and store workouts in an online database. Selected training maps can easily be shared with friends.

The apps can record a user’s workout including duration, distance, speed, calories burned, and even track the route on an interactive map. Currently, a similar app developed by MapMyFITNESS called iMapMy+ is available on iOS, Android, and Blackberry devices.
