The Guardian has republished some of the work by the artist, who died this week at age 85.

The British illustrator John Griffiths, who designed a number of book covers for Penguin titles including Fred Hoyle's The Black Cloud and Eric Linklater's Ripeness is All, died this week aged 85. The Guardian took a look back at his work by posting a selection of his cover illustrations. Click through the pictures to take a look:
