Yaohua Wang Architecture have re-envisioned walkways for this sci-fi design proposal. ‘Amsterdam Bridge V’ is a foreboding spiral steel structure, with interlocked surfaces that wrap around a sheltered and functional hub. The bridge has a unique futuristic aesthetic and independent paths for pedestrians and cyclists that run parallel to each other. Solar and wind power plants constantly feed energy into the program for the bridge, reducing it’s carbon footprint. Click through to see pictures of the spiral bridge:
