Readers will now be able to read from the e-reader in the dark, instead of having to attach an external light to the device.

According to various sources, Amazon will release a front-illuminated version of the Kindle in July, allowing readers to use the device in the dark. The drawback is that the front-lighting will drain the device's battery much faster. Reuters
