Sales patterns suggest Kindle Fire saw a boost from holiday purchasing in Q4, but without a major gift-giving occasion in Q1, market share declined sharply.

Recently released numbers indicate a slide in market share for the Amazon Tablet; market share fell from nearly 17% in Q4 2011 to just over 4% in Q1 2012, prompting some analysts to suggest people bought the tablet as gifts for others during the holiday, or Q4, season. Business Insider
