In preparation for the release of our upcoming Future Of Retail report, PSFK reached out and spoke to DITTO–a startup partnering with retailers that offers a 3D virtual fitting technology to help shoppers to try on glasses online. After consumers record a short video of themselves with a webcam, a 3D model avatar of the person is created which can then be used to try on pairs of glasses using a scrollable, 180-degree view. Final selections are aided by a side-by-side snapshot feature that is shareable on Facebook to solicit advice from friends. We spoke to Emily Mulle of DITTO, to get her thoughts.
