Crux Product Design reveals the new helmets for Team GB, which are smaller and more aerodynamic.

This unique process resulted in a new aerodynamic look and a smaller, safer helmet for cyclists. It features a dual-shell structure composed of a fitted inner shell and a shaped outer shell, with energy-absorbing aluminium honeycomb safety material between them, and visors made of a polycarbonate material also used in riot shields. Crux Product Design was commissioned to work on the helmet design by Dr Scott Drawer, head of research at UK Sport, who said:

Our job is to ensure our athletes make it to the start line among the best prepared and most feared in the world. Britain has a wealth of expertise in science, engineering and technology and by working with companies like Crux we can tap into a much wider network of skills and abilities from other industries to ensure we are leaving no stone unturned in our pursuit of sporting excellence.
