The sports brand introduces crossover sneakers that are wired with a display to allow athletes to read updates as they happen.

In celebration of the London Olympics 2012, adidas is debuting a concept shoe that enables wearers to read Twitter updates directly on the sneakers itself. The “Social Media Barricade” is a pair of decked-out sneakers that are emedded with an LCD screen. To see it in action today, fans can tweet the shoe direct @adidasbarricade. Made from a pair of original red adiPower Barricade, the social sneakers is “the future of athlete connectivity,” as adidas claims. Olympic athletes had a chance to try out these futuristic shoes at the adidas Olympics’ media lounge. Meanwhile, for us normal folks, check out a video of the sneakers below.
