We’re all familiar with the old adage “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” but most recycling fans don’t take it to this impressive extreme. French artist, Bernard Pras, pays hommage to famous artists and pop culture figures through an amalgamation of found objects, creating large-scale installations.

Pras certainly has predecessors, like Vik Muniz and Giuseppe Arcimboldo, who created collages from trash, fruit and other found objects. Pras, like Arcimboldo, focuses on portraiture, but to a much larger degree. A sampling of his work below shows tributes to artists like Dali and Jack Nicholson.
