Outdoor Technology has created the Turtle Shell portable speaker that aims to make it functional and practical for cyclists to listen to music when they’re on their bikes. The Turtle Shell is named after its distinctive shape and is water-resistant, shockproof, dustproof, and complies to IXP-5 standards. It can be mounted to any bicycle handlebar and uses Bluetooth to connect with the phone or music player to stream sound. It’s able to connect with the device from a distance of up to 30 feet.

The Turtle Shell also includes a built-in microphone so users can take and make calls. There’s also a 3.5mm stereo line in, so users can also play audio from any device with a headphone jack or audio output. Outdoor Technology has recently turned to Kickstarter to raise some additional funds and is expected to reach its goal of $40,000. The Turtle Shell is expected to retail for $150.
