A giant red pillow travels to NYC from Brazil.

If you happen to pass a giant red pillow in the lower East side this weekend, don’t be surprised. The art piece is “at large” on 14th street between Avenues B and C, as a part of the annual Art in Odd Places (AiOP) event, sponsored in part by Parsons New School of Design and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.

The creator, Brazilian contemporary artist Geraldo Zamproni, has displayed a number of these pillows around the world, including Brazil, Peru, Argentina and Spain. He uses them to “prop up” buildings and other large pieces of architecture.
