In Budapest, the sports brand created ‘Cheer Me On,’ a Facebook app where friends could send digital messages to a screen for runners.

In Hungary, Next Wave Europe created the Facebook app ‘Cheer Me On’ for Nike to enhance the experience of runners in the Budapest Half Marathon. The integrated tool connected runners and their friends by delivering digital ‘cheers’ and personalized motivational messages.

When runners ran past marked sensors, the RFID chips on their shoes triggered the digital inspirational messages on an LED wall so the runner could read them as they went by. Thousands used ‘Cheer Me On,’ helping the Nike Budapest Half Marathon to become an even stronger community. Check out the video below to learn more about the campaign:
