UK magazine The Big Issue in the North is piloting the digital street paper project, with cards featuring scratch off panels that reveal unique codes.

UK weekly magazine The Big Issue in the North is launching a digital edition. Cards will be available to purchase from the vendors who sell the traditional paper version for the same price (£2), and they feature a scratch off panel that reveals a unique code. To read the digital magazine, you can scan the QR code featured on the card or visit www.binorthdigital.com and enter the code.

The Big Issue in the North is sold by over 350 homeless people in towns and cities across the north of England. It gives people who have few other options the opportunity to earn an income. It is piloting the digital street paper project in partnership with the INSP (International Network of Street Papers) charity. If the UK pilot proves successful, the scheme could be offered to street papers across the world.
