Invite-Only Subscription Service Is Netflix For Movie Theatres

Movie Pass offers exclusive memberships allowing viewers to watch one film per day in a movie theatre of their choice.

This holiday season, movie critics everywhere will likely be asking Santa for a new kind of present that is being hailed as the ‘Netflix for movie theatres.’ By paying $50 for a one month pass, movie lovers can see one 2d movie per day, free of charge. Likewise, there are 90 day and 1 year passes available.

The new memberships, called ‘Movie Passes,’ will be available starting November 23 of this year, and are available by invitation only. The only two requirements needed to use Movie Pass is the membership card, which looks like a normal credit card, and a smartphone to harness the Movie Pass app.

To use the pass, all users must do is open the Movie Pass smartphone app, select the theatre they wish to view a movie in, pick a movie and show time, and swipe their Movie Pass card at the selected theatre’s ticket kiosk. It’s as simple as that, and no more difficult than buying tickets on other apps, like Fandango.
