Authorities deem the ad to be unfair to big soda companies like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.

A few weeks ago, SodaStream rolled out its first-ever global ad campaign. The 30-second commercial shows bottles of soda spontaneously exploding whenever a consumer uses the SodaStream soda maker. Although the ad successfully aired in the U.S., Sweden, and Australia, it was pulled from showing in the U.K.

Authorities in the U.K. deemed the ad to be unfair as it was defamation against big soda brands such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. SodaStream was told by authorities that “the majority decided that the ad could be seen to tell people not to go to supermarkets and buy soft drinks, [and] instead help to save the environment by buying a SodaStream.”
