ShortList magazine has created the world’s first ‘playable’ magazine cover. Honoring its gaming issue which features the top twenty retro games, the cover allows users to play the classic Chuckie Egg video game.

Partnering with app company Blippar, Shortlist’s front cover employs augmented reality platform, enabling users to play the classic 80’s game on their smartphone or tablet exactly as it appears on the cover.

Martin Robinson, Editor at ShortList commented:

In consultation with Blippar, ShortList has chosen to feature the 80s platform game classic Chuckie Egg on the cover, which readers can Blipp to then play the game instantly on their phones and tablets exactly as it appears on the issue. ShortList has excelled itself in making the entire issue interactive, with every story – gaming or non-gaming – having some kind of Blippable content.
