Swedish industrial design agency People People‘s Transparent Speaker was introduced to the world a year ago, and is featured in and Britney Spear’s music video for Scream and Shout! Now, the project is becoming available to the masses through a Kickstarter campaign. The speaker, which is made with high quality audio components and materials, effortlessly blends into any environment instead of sticking out against the decor.

Transparent Speaker Brings Style To Sounds

It has a built-in power amplifier with embedded digital signal processing (DSP) that ensures a full and balanced sound. There is a machined aluminum control panel with simple knobs for bass, treble, and volume. An LED indicator for power-on and display also appears on the front, along with a 3.5mm auxiliary jack. On the back of the speaker, there is another 3.5mm jack, a powered USB port, and a toaster slot for AirPort Express routers.

After launching on December 13th, the Transparent Speaker is already past the halfway point of its $120,000 goal on Kickstarter. Backers can pledge $490 for a fully assembled speaker or $360 for an unassembled version without the glass panels. Watch the video below for more information:
