The artist has created a homage to the principal means of transportation in China.

Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has created a new installation for his first exhibition at the Galleria Continua in San Gimignano, Italy. ‘Stacked' features 760 bicycles, as a homage to the principal means of transportation in China.

The bikes form a cohesive structure, which can be viewed from afar or within, with visitors looking up at all the frames and wheels.

Colossal notes that Ai Weiwei's exhibition is comprised of several sculptures, installations, video, and photographs, and is on show until February 16th. Click through to see a selection of images of the Galleria Continua exhibition:
