Google Maps Explores The Grand Canyon With Over 9,500 Images [Pics]

The panoramic photos were captured by the Trekker; Android-operated 40-pound backpacks carrying a 15-lens camera system.

Google Maps has released panoramic images of the Grand Canyon to help people virtually explore the spectacular site by gazing at scenic views in full 360°. The company’s constantly expanding imagery collection is giving people wider access to the world around them. Google Maps’ product manager, Ryan Falor, wrote:

These beautiful, interactive images cover more than 75 miles of trails and surrounding roads, making our map of this area even more comprehensive, accurate and easy to use than ever before.

Explore The Grand Canyon With Over 9,500 Images From Google Maps [Pics]

More than 9,500 panoramas of the Grand Canyon are now available to view on Google Maps. The imagery collection was captured by the Trekker, with Google’s team carrying Android-operated 40-pound backpacks with the 15-lens camera system around the rocky terrain on foot.
