‘A Million Times’ is an installation by Stockholm-based studio Humans since 1982. It is similar to their Clock Clock project, which featured 24 analog clocks that functioned as one complete unit.
This time, they’ve expanded the idea to include 288 clocks, which are controlled by custom software using an iPad. The clocks move and ripple to create ever-changing art, tell the time, and spell out words.
The contrasting black hands on the white faces are moved to create numbers, letters, and shapes. The kinetic work is digitally controlled, transforming to create different displays on the analog interface.
