Wristband Tells Doctors When They Need To Wash Their Hands [Video]

Intelligent M is a digital wristband that is able to monitor hygiene habits of medical employee. The bracelet works alongside sensor-embedded washing stations and is able to record the time, the location, and the duration whenever a doctor or nurse washes their hands.

The bracelet uses radio frequency and has an accelerometer that can vibrate and alert the user if they have washed their hands long enough, or if they need to spend more time at the sink.


Intelligent M’s wristband aims to improve hygiene regime in medical staff and reduce the number of preventable infections. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are nearly 2 million cases reported each year of infections acquired in hospitals.
