After a series of TV commercials centered around the mobile game that aired during the Oscars has been brought to life as part of a developer contest.

During the Oscars, Samsung ran a series of TV commercials (one featuring Tim Burton) centered around the fictional game ‘Unicorn Apocalypse‘. After a developer contest to create the game, with the winner receiving a reward of $25,000, it has been released in the Google Play store.

The mobile game takes advantage of Samsung's commercial airplay to increase interest and is a nice extension to the commercial, even if the reviews have been very poor. ‘Unicorn Apocalypse', developed by Liquid Gameworks, lets gamers play as a lone unicorn, the harbinger of the apocalypse, as it wreaks havoc on the last of humanity. The game description reads:
