Gym Prints Food Receipts With Calorie Counts Instead Of Prices

Gold's Gym has shoppers do their buying based on the health value instead of dollar value.

In an attempt to switch the focus from financial to physical health – a group of students at the Miami Ad School in Brazil have created a receipt that shows calories in place of dollars.

This unavoidable visual aspect of shopping forces shoppers to notice how many calories have gone into their weekly shop, instead of just how many dollars have gone out of their wallet. A tactic that could help people start eating better without having to check the calorie count of each and every item they pick up as they go round the store.

Apart from the obvious health benefits associated with this kind of receipt, it also serves as an excellent promotion tool for Gold’s Gym.
