Fashion retailer taps boutique swimwear brand to create a new line of items for wear in the water.

In a unique seasonal collaboration, J. Crew has released an exclusive capsule collection with Pret-à-Surf – a surf and swim line founded by Vogue editor Jillian Demling and Annie Liebovitz’s studio manager Karen Mulligan.

The 11-piece capsule collection includes bathing suits, rash-guard surf tops, and shorts. The designers are clearly inspired by 40’s and 50’s swimwear design. They generally work with polka-dots, stripes, and prints which come together to convey a signature summer look that are reminiscent of Mad Men or something Marilyn Monroe would wear.
