Italian footwear brand Salvatore Ferragamo is trying to raise awareness of its founder by featuring him in his very own comic book. “Making Of A Dream” aims to portray Mr. Ferragamo’s story in a whimsical fashion, telling his story in a unique way.

Animator, illustrator and cartoonist Frank Espinosa was chosen for the project thanks to his artistic ability and the fact he is the son of a cobbler, giving him a personal understanding of what it means to be a shoemaker. A variety of media including acrylic, gouache on pencil and India ink with rice paper inserts was used to convey the messy nature of a cobbler’s store.
