UK-based design studio Splinter Works have combined the experience of relaxing in a hammock with the immersive comfort of soaking in a hot bath. ‘Vessel’ is a suspended sculpture for the wet room that elevates bathing.

Bath Tub Hangs Like A Hammock For Total Relaxation [Pics]

The bathtub doesn’t touch the floor as it is suspended from the walls and fixed with stainless steel brackets that can be covered over or left revealed. The bathtub is filled using a floor standing tap and the waste water released through the base into a floor drain.

Beneath the layers of carbon fiber there is a foam core, which insulates the tub so the water stays hot for longer than usual. The bathtub is 2.7m long and available in black, red, blue, yellow, pink, bronze and pure silver. Click through to see pictures of ‘Vessel’:
