Created by media artists The Light Surgeons the multimedia experience at the Cannes Lions let people play with over 1.8 million clips.

Getty Images partnered with East London media artists The Light Surgeons to create an interactive experience at Cannes Lions 2013 which explores their vast video archive of 1.8M clips through meta-tagging and connections to reveal the conceptual relationships between image and word.

Getty Images’ international creative experts shared their insights around the future of video at the event. The gesture-controlled dynamic video wall featured creative content exploring visionary themes.

Made up of 24 screens, the bespoke wall enabled visitors to interact and engage with Getty Images content in a new and unique way. They were able to explore the archives using hand gestures to pick from topics like “retro styled” and “jumping.” Getty Images Senior Director Creative Imagery, Paul Foster, who enjoyed the way visitors at Cannes reacted to the piece, commented that:
