Software engineer uses data from Plane Finder to create unique infographics on flight paths.

Alexey Papulovskiy, a software engineer, created Contrailz that transforms the data collected from Plane Finder into stunning visuals. Flight paths from around the world have been mapped out to show routes and height levels of the planes, where blue markings indicate higher altitudes, and red shows low-altitude flights.

Papulovskiy painstakingly monitored every plane route from Plane Finder, where the data collected resulted in a billion “dots” plotted on a world map. On the site, users can search by city and airport, and zoom into a particular location on the map. Papulovskiy comments that:
