The GEAK Ring stores contact information, activating a device so users don't need to remember or enter a password.

Shanghai-based company GEAK has announced an NFC-enabled ring that can be used to store your contact information. By wearing it on the hand holding your smartphone, the ring can unlock the device so you don't need to remember or put in a password.

Engadget reports that the GEAK Ring can also be used to share your contact card with other NFC-enabled devices, offering a convenient way to provide others with your details.

Initially, the ring will only be compatible with the GEAK Eye and GEAK Mars quad-core phones but it will support Samsung, Xiaomi and Oppo devices from November. You can pre-order the GEAK Ring from August 8th, at a price of ¥199 ($30).
