Beck’s has created the Edison Bottle, which features Auckland band Ghost Wave’s song carved directly onto its surface.

Beck’s NZ created the Edison Bottle, the first playable beer, which can be played on a device based on Thomas Edison’s phonograph. The bottle features Auckland band Ghost Wave’s song ‘Here She Comes’ inscribed directly onto its surface.

The team at Gyro designed and built a record-cutting lathe, driven by a hard drive recording head, and then reinvented Edison’s original cylinder player using modern materials and electronics. This could read the grooves carved into the bottle, playing the music.
