Burn The Miles wants fliers to engage in physical activity after flying and rewards them for doing so.

We already know that sitting in a plane for hours can wreak havoc on our bodies, but after getting off a plane, people aren't that inclined to be mobile. Burn The Miles, an app created by German agency MRM for Latvia-based loyalty program Baltic Miles, encourages movement after de-boarding, rewarding participants who burn the equivalent number of calories as distance traveled. And they have 24 hours to do it.

The app measures your flight to determine how much exercise you need to do, for instance, if you have a business trip from London to Warsaw, then you would have to burn 1, 010 calories to match the mileage. Should you do so, you receive extra reward points to spend where you choose. The gamification aspect of the app is currently being developed to include a ranking system to up the motivation ante.
