The Reading Tray is a clear plastic overlay that holds books, newspaper or magazines, and for multitaskers who like to read while they eat.

Spilling coffee all over your morning paper is not an ideal way to start the day. But for those messy readers who would like to get through the headlines without crumbs and spillage, designer Yu-hun Kim has created the Reading Tray: a translucent plastic tray with a slot for your reading material – be it paper, magazine or book – and a specially marked spot for mugs.

The tray gives protection when reading and eating, whilst also holding the page. It may not be entirely practical, in that you have to take your reading material out of the tray every time you want to turn the page, but it does provide a momentary sense of relief for the multitaskers out there.
