Dutch design studio Samira Boon makes functional products and textiles with simplicity and tactility. Their series of surgical masks attempt to update the sterile gauze mask with something more cheerful and funny.

Sterile Surgeon Masks Updated With Animal Features [Pics]

The new masks still serve their purpose, but the 15 types depict various images from animal or human features to zippers. The animal snouts are particularly effective, transforming part of the face instead of simply concealing it with a plain mask.

There are many options to choose from, including a tiger, gorilla, pig, sheep, hippo, lion, etc, with customized masks also available. Click through to see a selection of the masks:
