The BaseCamp Bonn Young Hostel in Germany does away with the typical hostel rooms and instead creates an indoor camping experience by using camping trailers as rooms.

The hostel is housed inside a former storage facility in Bonn, Germany and its rates range from $32 to just a little over a hundred dollars per night. The hostel has 120 beds across 15 camping caravans, two night sleepers, and two Airstreams.

The rooms are arranged in a circle and set up like a typical campground. The camping caravans and trailers have themes and are called names like Safari, Flower Power, Drag Queen, Nautilus, and Space Shuttle. Like in a typical campground, there are chairs and tables set up outside of most of the caravans. Guests are provided with linen, towels, breakfast, and free WiFi during their stay.

The hostel, which opened in August, was designed based on the idea of German hotelier Michael Schloesser.
