Sydney-based multi-disciplinary artist Alex Seton creates very realistic marble sculptures of everyday objects including ordinary clothing like t-shirts and sweatshirts.

Seton, who graduated from the College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales, is known for his skill in carving marble and has exhibited nationally and internationally.

His sculptures create an illusion and defy perception since he works with marble but the resulting sculpture exudes a sense of fluidity and flexibility. He is able to capture the intricate folds and creases of a soft object such as a sweatshirt or a cotton t-shirt.

Seton’s sculptures are held in private and public collections in Australia and internationally. Click through some of his amazing pieces below.
