Musical Robots Form Automated Heavy Metal Band [Video]

The members of Compressorhead are built to play real instruments, covering classic tunes on stage just like humans.

Heavy metal band Compressorhead is made up of three members actually made of metal. The robots are built to play real instruments and have musician names like Stickboy and Fingers.

Having performed at several music festivals, the band can cover lots of classic songs by performing them in a human-like manner. The drummer, Stickboy, has four arms and plays a Pearl 14 piece kit with double kick, while Stickboy junior controls the hi-hat shuffle.

Guitarist Fingers has 78 purpose built fingers, enough to play the entire fret board and pluck. The bass player, Bones, is the third member of “the world’s heaviest metal band”.

The robots cover classic tracks like TNT by AC/DC, Ace of Spades by Motorhead and Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones. They played on the main stage at the Big Day Out festival in January. You can check out Compressorhead in action in the videos below:
