British artist Damien Hirst has been an influential figure in the art world over recent years, and now he wants to combine art with education to teach kids the alphabet. He plans to do this with a book simply called “ABC” that uses 26 of his artworks to illustrate each letter.

The large-format board book is made with soybean ink to make it safe for children, but was designed for art lovers of all ages. Filled with dissected cows and sheep, butterflies, the incredible diamond skull, and many other well-known Hirst pieces, the book encapsulates the artist’s entire career.


Even though it might go over the head of the younger readers, those adults who sneak a peak at the book will also see how many of Hirst’s artworks address the scientific, philosophical, and religious issues that lie at the heart of human existence.
