For their new campaign, McCain Foods created a potato-scented taxi that gave free rides for five minutes, the time it takes to microwave the brand’s Ready Baked Jackets potato snacks.

The “Jacket Taxi” was created in five weeks. The resulting taxi had a giant 3D jacket potato on its roof. The giant potato emitted the scent of baked potatoes and gave passers-by a chance to enjoy the delicious aroma of hot jacket potatoes.

The Jacket Taxi was also fitted with cooking facilities and a flip-down tablet screen from the roof. At the end of their free ride, passengers were treated to a hot baked potato — or jacket potato as they are called in the UK — made right in the taxi.

The taxi traveled through London, Birmingham, Manchester, York, Leeds and Bristol, and was part of the campaign to promote the McCain Ready Baked Jackets, which smell and taste like oven-baked jackets, but only take five minutes to cook.
